Liturgies with Cardinal Wuerl

The Archbishop of Washington, Donald Cardinal Wuerl, presides at many Cathedral liturgies during the year. Parishioners, Archdiocesan faithful and visitors in general are invited and encouraged to participate in these episcopal liturgies when our Archbishop presides as the Shepherd of the Faithful.

Following are some of the Eucharistic liturgies at which the Archbishop presides at the Cathedral:

  • Christmas
  • Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God
  • Anniversary celebration honoring those in consecrated life
  • Ash Wednesday
  • Palm Sunday
  • Blessing of the Oils (Chrism Mass)
  • Holy Week Triduum (the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday, the Lord's Passion on Good Friday, the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday)
  • Easter Sunday
  • Pentecost
  • Annual Red Mass
  • All Soul's Day

The specific dates and times for these and other liturgies are announced in our printed and electronic publications.
